Powering the Future: How Greenlight Power Supports the Growth of Data Centers and Telecommunications in the Philippines

May 14, 2025

The Philippines is undergoing a significant digital transformation. As more businesses move to the cloud and internet usage continues to grow, the demand for strong, stable infrastructure has never been higher. At the center of this transformation are two critical sectors: data centers and telecommunications.

Both industries require reliable, scalable, and safe electrical systems to function effectively—and this is where Greenlight Power plays a vital role.

The Growing Need for Infrastructure Support

According to the Philippine News Agency (PNA), the country’s total data center capacity reached 182.2 megawatts (MW) in 2024. This figure is projected to nearly triple to 516 MW by 2028. [1]

This surge is being driven by increased digitalization across industries and greater demand for cloud-based services. Key players include: [2] [3] [4] [5]

  • ePLDT – 122 MW
  • ST Telemedia Global Data Centres and Globe Telecom – 35.2 MW
  • Other data center developers – 25 MW combined

At the same time, the telecommunications industry is seeing widespread expansion, especially in tower construction and fiber deployment. Telecom providers such as PLDT, Globe, and DITO are continuously upgrading their infrastructure to improve service reliability across the country. For instance, Globe Telecom has been leading in telco infrastructure builds and tower construction, as reported by the National Telecommunications Commission. [6]

Our Contribution to the Industry

As the digital economy grows, so does the need for electrical systems that can handle heavy loads, round-the-clock operations, and high safety standards.

At Greenlight Power, we’ve delivered thousands of electrical panels and solutions specifically for data centers and telecom facilities since 2010 throughout the Philippines.

Our electrical products are designed to meet the rigorous demands of these industries:

  • Built for high uptime and reliability
  • Engineered with safety and redundancy features
  • Flexible and scalable for system upgrades

We understand that even a few seconds of downtime in a data center or telecommunication facility can result in serious operational disruptions. That’s why we build solutions with quality, compliance, and long-term reliability in mind.

Helping Build a Connected Future

The demand for digital services, stable internet, and data storage is only expected to grow. As the country pushes toward becoming a digital hub in Southeast Asia, infrastructure will remain the foundation of that progress.

Our mission is to power that foundation—quietly but effectively—through dependable electrical systems that enable the backbone industries of today and tomorrow.

If you’re building or upgrading a data center or telecommunications facility, we’re ready to provide the solutions you need to grow with confidence.
